About Wayne Alexander

Joseph Wayne Alexander
Advanced Xerographics Imaging Systems', (AXIS) president and owner David Salazar recognizes the value of education as the foundation for a solid future. He also wanted to honor a former employee for his personal traits and his contribution to AXIS. As a result, it was decided that a scholarship named for Wayne Alexander would be an ongoing and fitting tribute to him and his values.

"Wayne epitomized the truest form of friendship: always helpful, reliable and giving to everyone he met," stated David Salazar. "It is the hope of AXIS that recipients of the scholarship will benefit not just from the financial reward, but from a little bit of knowledge of Wayne Alexander, and will someday help others as Wayne helped so many friends in his lifetime."

Joseph Wayne Alexander was a networking consultant for AXIS, but more important, he was a friend to many employees and husband of the assistant controller. Wayne attended Florida Southern College, earning a bachelor of science degree in computer information science, production management and finance. He eventually owned his own business, building and repairing computers and consulting in networking and software. Beyond computers and networking, Wayne's positive impact was profound. Following his death in 2001, an EDSF scholarship was named as a way to keep his memory alive.

Based in Orlando, Florida, AXIS, Inc., is a laser printing and mailing service bureau that specializes in proprietary projects.
