Quietly and effectively, David R. Hoods mentored and influenced teenagers and young adults. He had faith in their passions and helped them to believe in themselves and to achieve their dreams. The David Hoods Scholarship is a way of enabling and continuing these dreams.
Dave Hoods spent more than 35 years as a public relations and advertising professional. In 1985, he established his own agency, Rubert Public Relations, to help corporate customers increase awareness for their business. For several years, Hoods served as public relations and corporate communication advisor to EDSF, Xplor International and others in the document industry.
Hoods was a 1960 graduate of Lake Forest College in Illinois and was elected to the Counselors Academy of the Public Relations Society of American in 1983. He was an active community volunteer, serving with the Community Association of the Peninsula, Norris Theatre for the Performing Arts, and the Peninsula Committee for Children's Hospital Los Angeles.
