EDSF Seeks College Students for Five Document Communication Industry Scholarships Application Deadline: July 14, 2000

TORRANCE, Calif. U.S.A. (May 9, 2000) - The Electronic Document Systems Foundation (EDSF) seeks university, college, and technical school students to apply for one of five scholarship awards. Students interested in pursuing a career in the field of document communication systems, and who meet the criteria, should apply. Applications accepted until July 14, 2000.

Students focused on the following areas of document communication studies are encouraged to apply: document preparation, production, and/or document distribution, 1:1 marketing, graphic communication and arts, e-commerce, imaging science, printing, web authoring, electronic publishing, computer science and telecommunications.

Following are the five scholarships available through EDSF:

  • David Hoods Memorial Scholarship - $2,000 Junior or senior-level college/university student pursuing a degree in the field of communications and document-related technologies.
  • EDSF Board of Directors Document Communication Scholarship - $2,000 Junior or senior-level or advanced college/university student pursuing a degree in the field of document and communication systems. Two scholarships will be given in this category.
  • EDSF Board of Directors Technical School Scholarship - $1,000 First or second year student attending a technical, trade school, or community college and pursuing a degree in the field of document communication systems. Two scholarships will be given in this category.

Scholarship Criteria:

  • Full-time student attending an accredited institution; Full-time junior or senior or advanced college student; First or second-year student attending a technical, trade school, or two-year school
  • Students pursuing a career in the field of document communication systems
  • Students with a "B" or 3.0 grade point average or higher

EDSF has established the EDSF Worldwide Document Communication Systems Scholarship Program to ensure that the industry has the best future talent to meet the ever-changing challenges of a growing profession.
