SCHOLARSHIPS - GENERAL INFORMATION

Background

The EDSF scholarship program was initiated in 1999.

The EDSF scholarship program was established to recognize and support the next generation of professionals for the document management and communication companies worldwide. EDSF scholarships are awarded to qualified students worldwide who are preparing for careers in this growing and dynamic industry. A minimum of 40 awards are available each year.

Scholarship Focus

EDSF scholarships are awarded to full-time students who are committed to pursuing a career in the document management and communications marketplace. These careers may include: Computer science & engineering (for example: web design, webmaster, software development, materials engineer, applications specialist, IT designer, systems analyst, chemical engineer, electrical engineer) and Graphic & Media Communications (for example: graphic designer, illustrator, color scientist, print production, prepress imaging specialist, workflow specialist, document preparation, production and/or document distribution, content management, e-commerce; imaging science, printing, web authoring, electronic publishing, archiving, security), and those students interested in Business (sales and marketing, finance, human resources, customer service, legal, compliance, project or product development/ management) in the document management and communications industry.

Criteria

Scholarships are based on any one or a combination of the following: Scholastic achievement, application essay, participation in school activities, community service, honors and organizational affiliations, and education objectives. Depending on specific donor criteria, other elements may be considered, such as geographic location, organization and presentation. The minimum GPA is 3.0 or a 'B' average. Technical, trade school, community college, undergraduate and advanced-degree students in the U.S. and/or diploma or tertiary students outside of the U.S. may be considered for scholarships. Student must be attending full-time, an accredited college or university.

Additional Information

  • The scholarship award will be credited to the recipient’s college account in one installment (fall semester).
     
  • Previous EDSF scholarship applicants and recipients, who meet the criteria, may re-apply for a scholarship. To do so, a revised, updated application and references must be submitted.
     
  • A postal notice of receipt for mailing the scholarship application packet is recommended. To ensure that EDSF has received your application (including letters of reference), contact EDSF.
