"Since I was young, I have aspired of not only working in the printing industry but also becoming a successful owner of a printing business. EDSF scholarships are enabling me to obtain this goal."

Overview

Research is a fundamental component of the services that EDSF provides its constituencies. The EDSF Industry Research library is a valuable and reliable resource that provides access to EDSF White Papers, presentations and publications as well as research by other reliable organizations.

Some of the research has been written by individuals or organizations other than EDSF. These papers have been submitted to EDSF, reviewed by the Research Committee and have met the EDSF research educational criteria.

Call for Papers: EDSF welcomes research papers of educational value. To include your research in the EDSF Research Library, please email your document to info@edsf.org for review. Prior to posting research papers, an evaluation committee will evaluate the paper making certain it meets specific criteria. The criteria to submit papers includes the following: the paper is original work, relevant to the document communications industry, a timely topic, not product or vendor specific, and well-written with a well-defined focus.

EDSF supports industry research in the following ways:

  • EDSF's worldwide research grant and mentor program involves students in important, leading-edge research, providing them with actual experience in the research process and support from a supervising professor and a professional EDSF mentor. See the video at the bottom of this page for a student's perspective on their research experience.

EDSF provides academic institutions an opportunity to partner with leading research firms such as Gartner, Doculabs, Infotrends and IDC to study industry trends.

  • EDSF's bi-monthly newsletter provides input on leading-edge industry trends, as well as promotes the research completed by EDSF's grant programs. Frank Romano edp, professor emeritus at Rochester Institute of Technology, serves as the editor.

  • Our Research Library provides access to relevant industry research provided by other organizations and individuals. All research that is posted within our Research Library has been reviewed and approved by the EDSF Research Committee.
