In 2000 Xplor Canada Association provided the funds to establish a sponsored scholarship award. This fund enables an annual scholarship which will be presented to a Canadian for an approximate 15 years.

Since the Foundation's inception, the Xplor Canada Association has been a strong supporter of the goals of EDSF. As Ray Elliott, former Xplor Canada Association president stated, "The creation of a Canadian scholarship is a natural extension of our support of the EDSF activities. All of us have benefited greatly from Xplor and EDSF. The Xplor Canada Association Scholarship gives us an opportunity to give something back to the industry and help provide for its future."

Each year a scholarship award will be presented to a Canadian citizen (or landed immigrant) who is pursuing a course of study in the document communication industry. The course of study may be in Canada or elsewhere.

The Xplor Canada Association is an affiliate of Xplor International, The Electronic Document Systems Association, which represents more than 2000 organizations around the world that develop and use the technology of the document systems industry. Xplor has an office in Canada that supports the local programming organized by volunteer leaders from many of the major Canadian companies that are members of Xplor, as well as member programs delivered by Xplor International.
